DIN TAI FUNG Hankyu Department Umeda Store
For today’s lunch, I went to “DIN TAI FUNG Hankyu Department Umeda Store” , a Taiwanese restaurant located in the 12th floor of Hankyu Department Umeda Store.
I had plenty to eat and to drink from the daytime at this famous well-established restaurant from Taiwan (^^
“Xiaolongbai” (4 pieces for 546 Yen)
The staff takes the lid off once they have placed the container on the table, allowing a puff of vapor to rise in front of your eyes!
When you take one in a china spoon and make a small cut in the wrapper, soup pours out from the inside!
It’s so hot! And oh-so-good!!
The soup, so hot that you could almost burn yourself with it, is full of flavor, and you can also enjoy the sweetness of the meat and the fluffy texture of the wrapper!
This is really high quality – exactly what you might expect from such a long standing store!

“Sweet pickled cucumber” (504 Yen)
The presentation is so beautiful!
The sweet and salty sauce matches the fresh cucumber wonderfully!
“Dressed bean sprouts” (504 Yen)
I cannot resist the aromatic flavor of this dish!
“Vegetable and pork steamed gyoza (dumplings)” (4 pieces for 630 Yen)
They are tightly filled with vegetables and ground pork!
The meat is very well seasoned and so tasty!
“Garlic flavored vegetable sautee” (840 Yen)
You can still feel the crunchy texture of the greens in this simple, yet deeply flavored dish!
“Shrimp and pork shumai” (4 pieces for 630 Yen)
The shape is quite different from the usual (^^
I dipped them lightly in soy ginger…
With these, too, the extremely hot and fully flavored soup pours out at once – they are so good!
“Taiwanese pork sausage” (630 Yen)
I had it together with some of the salty miso that it comes with…
The smell is good too, and the salt seasoning is just superb!
“Salted sautee of seafood and seasonal vegetables” (945 Yen)
The bright colors are beautiful!
The simple salt seasoning brings out the flavor of the ingredients!
“Hot and sour noodle soup” (1,050 Yen)
A noodle dish to end the meal!
This thick soup, which combines sourness, umami, and a gentle pungency, mingles very well with the noodles. It is really delicious!
“Shrimp and pork fried rice” (1365 Yen)
This is a very luxurious dish that uses plenty of shrimp!
The shrimps have a plump and fluffy texture, and their refined flavor is amazing!
“Apple annin” (420 Yen)
The apple sauces matches the almond jelly perfectly!
I was so full and satisfied!!
Not only they have a great variety of dim sum, including their xiaolongbai, but their menu also offers an ample choice of a-la-carte dishes.
Depending on the time many customers may be waiting in line to enter the restaurant, but if you go at other times, you can enter without having to wait (^^
The service is great, which makes you feel completely at home!
Great for casually having a few xiaolongbai, or to eat and drink until you are full, this restaurant is just so convenient that I will definitely be paying them a visit again!
