There are so many countless spots in the Dotonbori area serving Osaka-style ”Konamon” flour-based cuisine, that you might not know where to go.
However, “Okaru”, a veteran shop in the area since its founding in 1946 is one you have to try!

The menu has a line up of classic favorites, with Okonomiyaki styles like Buta-dama (pork), Niku-dama (beef), Ika-dama (squid), Tako-dama (Octopus), “Kaki-Dama” (oyster) and more.
They also have dishes like yakisoba, yakiudon and ‘kushikatsu’ skewers.

Here’s how it works: you place your order and watch the chef skillfully fry everything up right before your eyes so that you can enjoy the fun of watching everything live!

Once everything is cooked you can ask for them to decorate it with mayonnaise, which they did so well I found myself smiling!
The “Tsutenkaku” mayonnaise art is amazing!!!
The can even draw Osaka landmarks like “Tower of the Sun” and “Osaka Castle”!

In addition to the great service and atmosphere, the flavor of classic okonomiyaki, yakisoba, kushikatsu and everything else is amazingly delicious, no matter which one you try♪
