“Kushikatsu Kamatake Udon Bonbonya” in Hankyu Sanbangai
In March 2015, a kushikatsu and udon shop, “Kushikatsu Kamatake Udon Bonbonya”, opened on the 1st floor of the North building of Hankyu Sanbangai!
“10-skewer set special” (¥1,680)
For these all-out kushikatsu, each piece comes to only ¥168, so it’s an incredible deal! The first 5 skewers were: salmon cheese, menchi-katsu (breaded, deep-fried meat croquette), angel shrimp, beef tenderloin, and silky pork!
You can really enjoy the flavor of each ingredient in these freshly fried, piping hot kushikatsu!
The next 5 pieces were lotus bun, squid with umeboshi paste, chicken dumplings, asparagus, and corn!
After 10 skewers, I’m stuffed!
“Mentaiko cream udon” (¥980)
Mentaiko (marinated pollock and cod roe) and cream mixed into udon…
Oh, so yummy!
Mixing these thick, springy noodles with mentaiko cream makes for an insanely delicious combination!
“Hippari udon” (¥850)
A regional specialty of Yamagata Prefecture: udon topped with mackerel, natto, umeboshi paste, and egg yolk.
Stir round and round, mix up all the ingredients, eat, and…
Oh, so yummy!!
How does mackerel and natto work so well together? The more I think about it, the more interesting and delicious it becomes. The taste is addictive!
“Dandan udon” (¥930)
It’s the udon version of dandan noodles!

Rich with the taste of sesame, the deep, full-bodied flavor is irresistible!
The kushikatsu are very reasonably priced, and I got to try all sorts of specials and dinners, so I’m happy!
Easily accessible and located conveniently on the 1st floor of the North building of Hankyu Sanbangai, this is an excellent place!
