“BROTHERS cafeteria” Minami Senba
I was invited to the grand opening reception of “BROTHERS cafeteria” in Minami Senba on July 1, 2015.
This is the newly unfolded sister store to the wildly popular pancake cafes, “Brothers Cafe”, located in Umeda and Namba. The cafe’s desire is that “each cup imparts a single, unbeatable moment of deliciousness”, which is why the owner painstakingly selects fresh coffee beans from around the world, and why they are hand-roasted on site to create a deeply flavorful coffee.
For Breakfast, there are sandwiches and bountiful plates of fresh vegetables, and at Lunch you can enjoy hearty rare katsu curry or pasta dishes. At Teatime, there is a moist, rich cube-shaped pancake made with fresh eggs and served with mild cream cheese. At night, it even serves smoked foods and delicious drinks.
“The Mixed Smoked Platter (half size)” (1000 yen)
The smoked goods are a store specialty, served during nights at the cafe! It’s a mixed plate of homemade bacon, Camembert cheese, egg, cod roe, edamame, chicken breast and nuts!
Ahhh, it’s sooo good!
The flavor of the aromatic smoke enhances the ingredients’ delicious flavor, and imparts an enjoyable richness.
“5-Variety Tapas Platter” (880 yen)
They went all out on every flavor!
The anchovy flavored potato salad is ridiculously good and one of my favorites.
“Caeser Salad with Homemade Bacon” (680 yen)
Look at this beautiful plating!
The Caesar salad had such a fresh, delicious dressing, mixed in with crisp, juicy vegetables.
Jim Beam High Ball
“Grilled Skirt Steak” (980 yen)
This dish would make any meat-lover happy!
Dip it in the special sauce…
Ahhh, it’s so goood!!
This beef was wonderfully juicy, and paired with that sweet, deep, brothy dipping sauce, it really can’t be beat!
“Balsamic Chicken Sandwich on 8-Grain Bread” (750 yen)
It’s pretty hefty and packs quite a punch!
Just bite into it and…
The 8-grain bread has an aroma that perfectly matches with the ingredients!
Pancake Cube (880 yen)
The pancake cube is an all original creation, and the presentation is beautiful!
It’s moist, fluffy and delicately sweet, and the sweet aroma is magnificent!
Shaved-Ice Balls and Pineapple
The flavor of the sweet and sour pineapple spreads throughout your whole mouth.
“Golden Ratio Honey, Shaved Ice, Lemon Yogurt” (680 yen)
Uhhh it’s sooo good!!
The acidity of the lemon and yogurt, paired with the light sweetness is unbelievably delicious!
Cappuccino (400 yen)
It’s so cute~(^^
“Cold Pressed Juice”
Its sooo tasty!!
Even without any water or sugar, the sweet flavor of the fruit nectar on its own is amazing!
Breakfast, Lunch, Teatime, and Dinner each feature an appealing menu.
But I’m obsessed with the hand drop coffee that, at only 350 a cup, is insanely cheap!
This is what takeout looks like!
It’s so stylish!
There’s a large roasting machine.
With Dutch Coffee, it takes more than eight hours it flow all the way through!
The stylish interior has 15 seats at the bar-counter, and 3 four-person tables.
It’s a one-minute walk from the Nagahoribashi subway station and open for business by 7:00 a.m, so you can visit for all sorts of occasions.
I definitely want to visit again to see Breakfast and Lunch!
