Tsurunocho, Kita Ward, “Osaka Matsushita”

Finally established in Osaka by a famous soba expert!

I went to the soba restaurant “Osaka Matsushita” in Tsurunocho kita ward for lunch today. The owner opened the shop after having been trained and approved by a master known by nearly everyone in the world of soba.

The menu only has “Zaru soba” (¥850)!
Wanting us to experience the true essence of soba, they don’t plan on offering anything else on the menu, showing a real depth of taste and preference.

Although simple, this soba is packed with an extraordinary degree of consideration and finish.

First, I try it without putting anything else in it.

Wohhh, it’s amazing!!
The noodles are nice and firm, and the flavor of buckwheat flour flows through your nose as you bite into them.

Next, I dip it in the sauce.

Wowww, outstanding!!
The sauce’s flavor doesn’t overpower that of the buckwheat, and the two flavors enhance one another, this is the epitome of excellent soba!

Now I mix the sauce with the soba broth.

This is truly delicious!

There are all sorts of disputes as to the price of soba, but this price is by no means outrageous.

This store is very clean and overflows with style.

I have no doubts that Matsushita will become widely known for being right here in Osaka!
