“Fukushima Ichimen” in Fukushima

The finest cold ramen with high-class Japanese-style soup and fish!

For today’s lunch, I went to a ramen shop in the Fukushima ward called “Fukushima Ichimen”.
Their basic menu consists of “Tonkotsu (pork bone broth)” and “Kaisen Shio/Shoyu (seafood salt/soy sauce)” ramen, but they also offer various fascinating ramen daily specials.
I wanted to taste assorted flavors, but for today, I ordered their limited daily special, the “Aburi Shimesaba Hiyashi Soba (soba with broiled pickled mackerel)” (¥780)
The noodles were served in a refreshing glass bowl topped with a good amount of broiled pickled mackerel!

First, I’ll taste the soup…

Wooaaah, so delicioooouuuus!!
The chilled soup was brimming with such refined and high-class taste!
The flavor of the seafood broth and the degree of saltiness were just exquisite! This soup is truly delicious!

Trying the beautiful thickly sliced pickled mackerel…

Wooaaah, so delicioooouuuus!!
This taste makes me want to drink sake (rice wine) right now.

Moderately thick noodles…

Wooaaah, so delicioooouuuus!!
The noodles had perfect flavor and were really refreshing!

“Wasabi Rice” (¥50)
This is a must-eat for this restaurant!

Leaving a small piece of mackerel and putting it on top of the rice, pouring in the remaining soup, melting the wasabi, and eating it like ochazuke (rice in green tea)…

Wooaaah, so delicioooouuuus!!
You can’t get enough of this!
It was so good that I lost myself in its deliciousness and finished the entire bowl before I knew it. (^^

This is the “Kaisen Shio Ramen (seafood salt ramen)” (¥780) my friend ordered.
Look at that! It’s topped with broiled garden eel in plum dressing!

My friend kindly shared with me a portion of the garden eel topping. (^^

Wooaaah, so delicioooouuuus!!
The soft eel meat was such a perfect match with the splendidly delicious soup!

I got to taste two types of their ramen today, but I think this restaurant’s ramen are all undoubtedly, astonishingly delicious.
You can find this store on the first basement floor of Hotel Hanshin right across Fukushima Station. With this perfectly convenient location, I’ll definitely keep on coming back!
