“FOOD PAVILION” in EXPOCITY

Skip the long lines and get the same Tokyo Gourmet from the food court at the newly opened EXPOCITY !

For today’s lunch, I checked out the “FOOD PAVILION” food court on the 3rd floor of “EXPOCITY” in Suita.
“FOOD PAVILION” has a total of 16 stores, all of which are so alluring I couldn’t pick one until…
The Tokyo-Style Ten-Don (‎¥1,200) by “Kaneko Hannosuke LaLaport EXPOCITY Store”
This Ten-Don speciality restaurant always has the longest lines in Tokyo, but now it’s finally landed in Kansai!
This wonderfully, huge dish starts with a bed of rice topped with thick, tempura-battered eel, two prawns, squid, tempura-ed clam muscle, egg, seaweed, and deep-fried shishito!

This is what it looks like from behind, but the sheer amount of eel they use is ridiculous!

(゚Д゚)Yummy!(゚Д゚)Yummy!

Ohhhh it’s soooo goood!!
This massive eel is fluffy and soft, and the light batter is so crisp and aromatic!
Since it’s Tokyo-style you dip it into the dipping sauce right after it’s brought out, so the batter is delicious and the sauce’s flavor gets well incorporated.

If you dig into the tempura battered egg and mix in all the gooey yolk that comes out…

(゚Д゚)Yummy!(゚Д゚)Yummy!

Ahhh, yummmyyy!!
Adding the mild flavor makes everything even more delicious!
I really appreciate being able to eat all of this for only ‎¥1,200!

Rich, Marinated Egg Tsukemen (‎‎¥980) from “Tujita LaLaport EXPOCITY Store”
This store has 6 locations in Tokyo that have boasted long lines for 10 years, and now its made its way to Kansai for the first time!

m00166-04-min

I took a taste of the slightly thick dipping sauce…

(゚Д゚)Yummy!(゚Д゚)Yummy!

Delicioussss!!
It has a seafood, tonkotsu flavor which gives the soy sauce a rich umami that really packs a punch!

m00166-05-min

Thick straight noodles…

(゚Д゚)Yummy!(゚Д゚)Yummy!

Yummmyyy!!
The cool, slick noodles have a chewiness and great wheat-y flavor!

m00166-06-min

Chashu…

(゚Д゚)Yummy!(゚Д゚)Yummy!

Delicioussss!
It gets even more delicious with every bite!

m00166-07-min

The marinated, boiled egg on top…

(゚Д゚)Yummy!(゚Д゚)Yummy!

Ohhh it’s soooo gooodd!!
It’s soft-boiled ever so perfectly, and such a deliciously perfect match to enjoy with the sauce!

Takoyaki from “Aizuya” (‎‎¥600)
This slightly small Takoyaki doesn’t have any sauce or anything!

(゚Д゚)Yummy!(゚Д゚)Yummy!

And itss sooo goood!!
The dough has a dashi flavor throughout it and the meat and konnyaku go really well with it!
