Hakata Hanamidori Umeda Store

A special set meal in which you can enjoy Hakata mizutaki specialty store's karaage and oyakodon!

Today I’m having lunch at the mizutaki (Japanese chicken and vegetable hot pot) restaurant, “Hakata Hanamidori Umeda Store”, located on the second underground floor of Umeda’s Hilton Plaza East.
Hakata’s genuine mizutaki is very delicious, so I’m going to get the set with mizutaki and chicken.
“mizutaki karaage set” (1,000 yen) “Mini oyako don” (+200 yen)
It’s so nice that for only an extra 200 yen you can exchange your plain white rice for a mini oyako don!

“Mizutaki karaage” is chicken that has been cooked in soup and ponzu (Japanese soy sauce and citrus juice sauce) then deep fried.
Such large pieces of chicken piled on top of each other, what volume!

The skin is light, crispy and smells amazing, and the meat is well-seasoned and incredibly juicy!
It really makes you crave a beer (^^

Mini Oyako don (Chicken and egg on rice)

Thick egg and tender chicken with rather rich dashi (Japanese soup stock made with fish and kelp). It’s delicious!

Everything on the lunch menu looks good!

The area is full of places to eat, but this store is always packed with people!
Next time I want to try their mizutaki rice set(^^
