“Kagimoto” in Juso

A genuine Sichuan cuisine restaurant supported locally.

Today, I went to a Chinese cuisine restaurant called “Kagimoto” in Juso for lunch. It is a Sichuan speciality restaurant that I’ve been wanting to go to for a while!
‘Sichuan Mabo Tofu (white rice included)’ – 800 yen. The waitress asked if I wanted Chinese Pepper and when I said yes, ground some right in front of me!

Spicy and true to Sichuan flavors!

If you eat it with rice…

…there’s no need for me to tell you how fantastically good it is!

I wanted a bit more of a spice kick to my dish so they brought over the Flower Chinese Pepper…

and ground more all over my dish for me…

It had so much kick it was delicious!!

I was also intrigued by the TanTanMen dish and the TanTanMen without soup dish. Their night-time menu is quite something too.

I went to the restaurant just after 1:00pm, but the store was still packed full of customers. Luckily I managed to get a table for one without waiting, but all the people who came after me had to wait in the ever increasing queue. It really is being supported by the locals well. I would love to visit the restaurant again – next time I’ll try out their night menu!
