“Leone” in Kitashinchi
For today’s lunch I went to “Leone” in Kitashinchi, which serves a wide range of delicious dishes with a focus on Italian cuisine.
An astonishing number of different curries appear on the menu and change on a weekly basis, including the incredible spicy keema curry.
I had to go back to have the legendary sweet sour mapo keema (¥1,000) again, which left a lasting impression on me the last time I had it.
The saffron turmeric rice, topped with minced meat keema curry, is doused in a clear broth and garnished with hot sesame oil and green onions.
The look of the dish stirs the imagination as to what it may taste like.

This restaurant, hidden on the third floor of a building in Kitashinchi, is so popular that there is a line out the door depending on when you go.
They are only open for lunch during weekdays. But when you get a chance, be sure to go try this new type of dish: The hot and sour mapo keema!
