“Tendon Kaen” at Osaka Ekimae 1st Building

For today’s lunch, I visited a Tendon specialty restaurant, “Tendon Kaen”, located in Osaka Ekimae 1st Building.
I have been having Tendon everyday this week. Today, I am at a very popular restaurant located in a building adjacent to a train station, where you will always find a long line at lunch time. (^^

With 2 large shrimps, pumplin, Shishito pepper, and seaweed – all for a single ¥500 coin!
The 2 shrimps vary in size, but the one on the right is fairly big!

There is a fair amount of plumpness in the shrimp, and the part of the batter not soaked with the sauce still has the crunchy feel.

As you can see, the Tentsuyu sauce is very mild, has refined flavoring, and is not overwhelming at all. I can keep eating this(^^
The rice is fluffy and on the firmer size, nearly perfect for Tendon!

「Tendon」(¥500),「Dark Miso soup」(¥50), for a total of ¥550!

The dark Miso soup had Makifu and scallions. It was relatively on the salty side, but because the Tendon is so mild, they make a very well-balanced pair.
The all-you-can-eat pickles on the counter is a nice service.(^^

I ate Tendon everyday this week. In terms of the combination of Tendon and soup, this restaurant was the cheapest!
This is a really great deal, no matter how you look at it!
Also, for an additional ¥100, the extra-large portion Tendon at this restaurant comes with 1 more shrimp. Yet another great deal. (^^

This is a popular restaurant where you will always see a line in front of the store around noon.
The line moves very fast, so you will never have to wait too long.
I think that is also a part of its popularity.
