“Tomoya” in Higashi-Temma
For today’s lunch I went to “Tomoya” a restaurant in Higashi-Temma specializing in omu-rice.
A few days ago, I happened to be passing by this restaurant and I saw a sign that seemed familiar. When I checked it out, I saw that their Tenjinbashisuji 7-Chome restaurant had moved here, so I went as soon as I could!
Omu-rice is generally split into omelets with tomato sauce and those without, and they also allow you to choose the ingredients inside.
[Tomato Sauce with Chicken] (770 Yen)
It doesn’t appear so big at first glance, but this restaurant is actually famous for packing their omu-rice with a big helping of rice inside of their eggs. Even the “regular” size is bursting!
Packed with chicken rice!
The chicken rice is saturated with flavor and perfectly complements the flavor of the ketchup and mild garlic along with the refreshingly tart flavor of the tomato sauce!
There’s so much that no matter how much you eat, it seems like there’s still more left!
If you get too used to the flavor partway through, you can always season it with some beni shoga (pickled red ginger) to change it up!
The salad and miso soup that comes with the omelet is also a nice touch!
They have a huge array of omu-rice varieties for you to try!
In addition to the omu-rice, at night this restaurant also operates as an izayaka (Japanese gastro pub) with a tempting menu for you to explore!
This stylish, clean restaurant features both counter and table seats.
This sign I saw all the time at their old restaurant is still holding up well!
Located in a convenient location, just a five-minute walk from Osaka Temmangu station and a 10-minute walking distance from Minami-morimachi Station.
I want to make sure I try out all their unique flavors of omu-rice!
