Namba Sennichimae Yakinikudokoro Mataraiya

A relaxing time in a gorgeous restaurant eating good Japanese black beef!

Today I went to lunch at a yakiniku restaurant called “Namba Sennichimae Yakinikudokoro Mataraiya” in Namba.

There is a lot of choice on the lunchtime menu. I decided to go for the ‘Red grilled green onion lunch’ (1,480 yen) after it was recommended to me by staff.

Red meat grilled in a sauce, topped with an half-cooked egg beaten in soup stock and soft steamed green onions.
I haven’t eaten a dish quite like this before!

I’ll take a bite of the meat topped with egg and green onions first…

Wow! Delicious!
The meat is very soft and has been marinated in the sauce perfectly. The green onions and egg combine with the meat very well!

Next I try eating the meat alongside my rice – which is topped with ginger, perilla leaves and seaweed…

So amazingly good!
The unique flavor of the perilla leaves and the fresh feel of the ginger makes a perfect sweet and sour combination that goes really well with the meat.

A drink and a desert came with the lunch set. It’s really great value!

There were so many items to choose from on the lunch menu. They all look really good! Their evening meal menu is also very reasonably priced.

This restaurant is home to a very gorgeous, luxurious and yet relaxing and at-home atmosphere. There is a wide variety of seating options too – counter-side seats, table seats, Japanese style floor table seats, VIP rooms, etc.

The meat was of good quality and the atmosphere of the restaurant was fantastic. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough!
