“OSTERIA DA PAOLO” in Dojima

A good value, authentic italian lunch.

For today’s lunch I went to Italian restaurant “OSTERIA DA PAOLO” in Dojima. With an Italian owner and an Italian chef, the restaurant offers the chance to eat authentic Italian food, and has a very good value lunch menu.

There is only one variety of lunch set, and from the 2 varieties of pasta specials of the day I chose “Arabiata”. The tomato sauce has a depth to it’s flavor, combining a richness with a slight spiciness, and I really like it!
It was really delicious, with a great balance of spiciness, sourness and sweetness!

The spaghetti was a cooked a little al dente, and had a really nice consistency. I really enjoyed eating it!

The lunch set salad.
There was a lot of it.

The homemade Focaccia.
It was amazing how I could really sense the aroma of olive oil and the salt flavor.

At 1000 yen for a complete lunch, which even included dolce milk pudding and coffee, it was great value!

I thought that there was only one variety of lunch, but for some reason it was called “Lunch A”.
Perhaps there are also B and C lunches, but I couldn’t check.

There are seats at tables and at the counter, and the whole restaurant is well designed.
With the sound of Italian coming from the other side of the counter, I felt like I was not in Japan anymore.
I arrived at the restaurant just as it opened, so there were no other customers, but although it wasn’t yet 12 p.m. when I left customers were coming in continuously. It seemed like a popular restaurant where you might need to queue.
Being able to eat authentic Italian food at such a reasonable price, makes this restaurant an obvious choice.
