“Junkanro” in Tamatsukuri

Distinctive flavors of Szechuan Mapo Tofu and super juicy Gyoza, from a Chinese restaurant in old town, are simply addictive!

For today’s lunch I went to “Junkanro” in Tamatsukuri.
While it looks like a typical Chinese restaurant, it is known as a restaurant with infinite potential, and has many fans.
Mapo Tofu is not available as a lunch set, so I ordered it a la carte.
“Szechuan Mapo Tofu” (¥1,050), “Rice” ( ¥200)

Loaded on a large plate!

With a spoon

WOW!! Delicious!!
Its distinctive flavors are amazingly rich, with some spiciness, and they are definitely addictive!

On the rice

WOW!! Delicious!!

“Grilled Gyoza” (¥420 for 6 pieces)
These Gyoza are simply amazing!

Dipped in the Gyoza sauce

The crazy amount of juice that flows out of the Gyoza made me think that I was eating Xiaolongbao!
They made me want to drink some beer, but I will resist today (^^

At lunch time, a variety of reasonably priced set menus are available, as well as a la carte items.

The restaurant is conveniently located close to Tamatsukuri Station. While it looks like a typical restaurant from the outside, it is nice that I could have something of this caliber at this place (^^
I look forward to returning at night, for some beer and delicious Gyoza!
