“Ichimizen” in Tanimachi 5-chome

Seafood bowls with giant pieces of seafood!

For today’s lunch I went to “Ichimizen”, a seafood izakaya in Tanimachi 5-chome.
This restaurant is famous for their huge helpings, and their seafood bowl, tempura rice bowl, sashimi set meal, and tempura set meal are the most popular for lunch.
I was blown away by the sheer volume of food the last time I ate there, and it’s really just as amazing as I remembered!

I think you can see just how big the bowl is by comparing it to the teacup.
The bowl is packed with a spread of huge cuts of tuna, salmon, sea bream, octopus, bonito, and then topped with salmon roe!

The tuna is about 2cm thick and about as big as a business card.
It’s actually pretty heavy in my chopsticks (^ ^;
I ate it along with the rice and soy sauce mixed with wasabi.

The thick cuts of salmon have a bit of fat on top to make it extra savory!
It’s almost too filling!

The seafood bowl has all this and red miso for just 1050 yen!

The diner sitting next to me had the sashimi set meal, which was unbelievably overloaded with sashimi!
The shrimp and conger eel bowl is also outstanding, with a really long piece of eel!

I went right as they opened at 11 in the morning, and there was a never-ending stream of customers that came after that!
The first floor has seats at the counter as well as tatami seats, with the 2nd floor also having tatami seats. By noon all the seats were taken.
At night, they still have huge servings of seafood for a very reasonable price.
This is the kind of place I want to try night and day!
