“Mehariya Bunzaemon” a restaurant specializing in meharizushi

A restaurant specializing in meharizushi, an Osaka hot spot for over 20 years

Meharizushi, which is a regional dish Wakayama Prefecture, is one of my absolute favorites!
“Mehariya Bunzaemon” has been a popular meharizushi specialty restaurant, with branches in both Osaka’s Kita and Minami, for over 20 years.

Leaf mustard leaves, which have been pickled in homemade, soy-based sauce, are wrapped around sushi, nigiri-style. This is a taste that you will really come to love ♪

With such a large variety of fillings to choose from—salmon, bonito, leaf mustard, cod roe, plum, tempura prawns—you end up eating way more than you should. Woops! ☆

The one I would recommend the most is the salmon.

It’s also great how you can can choose from so many styles of the mouthful sized “takana hosomaki” rolls ♪

Apart from the meharizushi, other dishes for you to enjoy include deep-fried chicken, croquettes, and oden.
