Higashi Umeda “Osaka Mentetsu”

Superb "shoyu ramen" (ramen noodles in soy-sauce flavored soup)- there is much more to the noodles and the soup than meets the eye!

For today’s lunch, I went to “Osaka Mentetsu”, a ramen restaurant located in Higashi Umeda.
The extremely famous and popular  “Mentetsu” , original from Toyonaka, has finally found its way to Umeda!

“Shoyu Wantan” 900Yen
It is almost as if it was the very simple aspect of this ramen that hints at how delicious it is.

First of all, let’s taste the soup.

Oh, woooow, this is so tasty!!
“Now, this is what shoyu ramen is all about!” One cannot help but to moan in delight at this thought, triggered by the extremely rich, almost too deep taste of this soup.

The noodles are on the thin side and straight…

Ahhh, yummy!!
The noodles bring up plenty of soup with them, and the way they smoothly go down the throat is irresistible – it feels so good and refreshing!
Matching this soup with this type of noodles must be the result of endless calculations!

It comes with an incredibly enormous and meaty roasted pork fillet…

This juicy meat is outstandingly filling!

Then I had the wantan…

The smooth wrappers and the condensed flavor of the meat are nothing but delicious!

Since it was so good, and the second serving of noodles was just 100 yen, I was about to order more without giving it a second thought, but I decided to restrain myself today (^^

I had passed in front of this restaurant many times and there was always a queue of people waiting outside, but today I could go in without waiting by chance!
I am truly grateful to be able to have such delicious ramen in Umeda.
