“Patisserie a la Rive”, a genuine sweets cafe, now open in Tosabori, Nishi Ward, Osaka!
Walking from Nishi-umeda, I crossed the bridge in front of Moncher Main Store, and headed towards Higobashi Bridge, and there I discovered a hanging banner that I’d never seen before!
Take a close look at the blue hanging banner on the right. Can you see the photo of cakes near the top?
When I crossed the bridge and looked from front on, I realized that this was a newly opened sweets shop.
Patisserie a la Rive is the sister shop of PATISSERIE Bien Sur in Ikeda City, Osaka Prefecture! This patisserie just opened on October 3rd, 2014. My heart filled with anticipation, I entered the shop.
Inside, I found a cake showcase on the left.
And on the right, a baked sweets corner.
There were a range of baked sweets—including Nakanoshima pies—that looked perfect for gifts to take to someone you’re visiting.
Behind the baked sweets corner is a stylish eat-in space.
It’s also great how they have another eat-in space at the end of the store.
All the cakes displayed colorfully in the showcase.
With so many attractive sweets, like the tart made with Okayama grapes, for a while I couldn’t decide which one to choose. I finally went for the following two.
Fig tart (500Yen)
Gateaux gentille (520Yen)
The staff kindly offered me a dacquoise free of charge.
They were all really sweet and delicious.
Thank you so much!
Not only cakes, but a cafe-style menu offering quiches, crepes and the like, is yours to enjoy in the eat-in spaces.
Next time, I’d like to try the crepes.
