For lunch today, I went to “Bunzou” in Shinsaibashi, a restaurant serving Kyoto-style dishes and aged-beef.
I’ve been here for dinner before, and I was amazed by how great the aged-beef at this restaurant tastes!
The three kinds of Kyoto-style lunch; “Tempura Gozen”, “Sashimi Gozen”, and “Grilled Fish Gozen”; come with a main course, an assortment of six different obanzai, chawanmushi, cha soba, salad, akadashi miso soup, and free seconds of seasoned rice. It’s only exactly 1,000Yen!
Being able to enjoy such a satisfying meal for only 1,000Yen is an unbelievable value!

The fresh deep-fried tempura is so delicious because of its crispy, light batter!

It’s lightly flavored in the Kyoto-style, but the outstanding seasoning marvelously brings out the flavors of the ingredients!
Chawanmushi (Japanese steamed egg custard)
The umami flavor of the dashi is flawless!
Since I was so amazed by its flavor, the staff kindly told me that “there’s soy milk in it.”
What’s more, she added, “There are some customers who always return for lunch to eat this chawanmushi.”
Surely this is something you want to eat again once you’ve had it. （＾＾

How they flavor the akadashi miso soup is truly amazing!
For an extra 300Yen, you get a drink and dessert after the meal!
This is also an incredible value!
Now I want to try the “Sashimi Gozen” and “Grilled Fish Gozen”. （＾＾
Due to the bad weather, there weren’t many customers when I dined, but I heard that the restaurant is usually packed with female customers!
Next time I will return for dinner and take my time while I enjoy their masterpiece: aged-beef!
