The Blanche Neige from “Patisserie Rechercher”, in Nishi Ward, Osaka. I was impressed by this cheese cake that allows one to enjoy the different kinds of sour tastes of rare cheese and berries!
I recommend “Patisserie Rechercher”’s “Blanche Neige” for those times when you feel like eating a cheese cake that brings out the different sour tastes of both rare cheese and berries.
When I visited the shop the other day, I immediately bought their “Prince Noir” and “Blanche Neige” (500 yen before tax,) which had been marked as “NEW.”
The description says that this is a cake made with rich rare cheese cream, berry jam, and a spicy dough as a base, but it looks like a mountain of rare cheese itself.
I ate it after using my imagination to try and guess what kind of layers I was to find inside of it.
The rare cheese cream, way more abundant than I had imagined, was very thick.
One can definitely feel the body and sweetness of this rich cheese, and a sour taste lingers for a long time after each bite.
The sour taste of the red-currant jam acts as an accent that brings out the sweetness and sourness of the richly flavored rare cheese.
The combination of this sourness with the spicy dough hidden at the base of the cake is professional skill at its best.
The mariage of different kinds of sour tastes in this cake was superb!
“Patisserie Rechercher” offers many other attractive French sweets besides these.
The shop also sells baked sweets, of course, and they also had a wide range of sweets in Christmas packages.
This was also the first time that I saw a tree made completely of chocolate (Sapin de chocolat.) It looked amazing, and it has become one of the chocolate sweets that I would love to have during this season.
(I really want to know what is inside of it…)
I recommend “Patisserie Rechercher”, located at a 1 min. walk from Namba, and a 5 min. walk from Sakuragawa Station to:
– those looking for delicious French sweets in Osaka
– those who love liquor-filled sweets
– those who love richly flavored cakes made with spices.
